Any member in good standing of the White River Golden Retriever Club who has attended at least three (3) monthly meetings during the calendar year and is current with dues is eligible for the competitive awards offered by WRGRC. Points are accumulated for each calendar year, except where noted. All competitive awards are based on AKC activities, except in field where non-AKC points will count. Degrees, qualifying legs or conformation achievements won in United Kennel Club and Canadian Kennel Club competitions may receive awards or recognition but do not count towards competitive trophies.* For the purpose of competitive trophies that may only be won by amateurs, amateur is defined as a person OTHER THAN a professional handler, assistant handler, paid trainer, AKC judge or a person who buys/sells or traffics in dogs as a means of livelihood. If a WRGRC member co-owns a dog with a non- WRGRC member, the dog must reside with the WRGRC member at least half of the time for the member to win competitive awards based on that dog's performance.
Special Awards may be given at the Board's discretion.
All members who receive circulating club competitive trophies must return
them to the Awards Chair every December so that they may be engraved for
the next Awards ceremony. Score sheets must be in by January 10th December 31st, 2007.
For each dog competing for trophies or who are to receive crate tags, score sheets must be submitted to the club Awards Chairman, along with the Award Achievement page stating what awards you think you're eligible for.
*Except in Field where non AKC points will count.
To win an award, you have to ask for an award. For goodness sakes, at least let us know! Fill out this form and send it in to Janet Ripley for the next WRGRC Annual Awards (mailing address is in the "members access" section of the webpage). Club awards and honorifics can be found on this awards page (the one you are currently reading). There is a new point system for these awards. Check out the link to determine if the rules have changed, as they apply to you!
WRGRC Top Agility Dog Trophy Presented to the dog with the most agility points. Awarded annually at the awards banquet.
This award is given for achievement in all three phases (obedience, conformation, and field). To compete for this trophy, a dog must first qualify (and a crate plaque is awarded for qualification) over any length of time in all three areas including a minimum of:
After meeting the above qualifications, then a dog is eligible to compete for the 3-way trophy using the conformation, obedience, and field point systems.
If a dog completes the qualification requirements in more than one year, the achievements in the year the dog qualifies and their corresponding points may be used towards winning the 3-way trophy.
The WC makes the dog 3 way qualified. The WC also earns one point towards winning the 3 way trophy in 1997 along with the additional conformation wins and the CDX leg. This award replaced the retired Three Way Trophy, which was first presented in 1972 and retired in 2000.
The Bekens Missouri Traveler, UDT-WCX - "X-TRA Mile" Challenge Trophy (combined obedience / field award) is awarded to any dog or bitch who earns the title of CDX or TDX along with a WCX. The CDX/TDX and WCX do not have to be earned within any certain time limit. The dog must be owner trained and handled while working toward degrees. The award is presented annually at the banquet.
Ch Cara's Moonraker UDT Memorial Trophy: This will be awarded to honor the White River Champion UDT dogs. It is a non-competitive award. If there is more than one winner, the award will be shared. The award is presented annually at the awards banquet. The winners will also receive an individual plaque ordered by Carolyn Richardson. This trophy was donated in memory of "Max."
This award is presented annually to a dog that has successfully participated or competed in three of the following four activities-obedience, field, agility or tracking and completed community service. Points are based on the point system for the various venues and the number of community service hours accumulated. The dog receiving the highest point total wins the award. They must have qualifying scores or titles in three of the following: one qualifying leg in novice, open, or utility: at least a certification in tracking; a qualifying leg in agility; either a WC, WCX, or a qualifying leg towards a junior, senior, or master hunter.
In addition they must have at least six credits or hours in community service/pet therapy. The award is presented annually at the banquet. This award was donated in memory of "U-CD Gandalf's Field of Dreams, CDX, WC."
Combination Conformation Obedience Award: The Sun Dance's Raggedy Ann, CDX, Challenge Trophy is awarded to the member whose Golden Retriever earns the most points participating in conformation and obedience during the calendar year. The dog must be awarded WD/WB at two shows thus winning points, and at least two qualifying legs for CD, CDX, or UD. For a dog having a conformation Championship, 2 BOS or BOBs would satisfy the conformation component. TD certification plus a TD pass would qualify as two obedience accomplishments. A TDX pass would also qualify since no pre-certification is given.
The Amberglo Kennels Overall Conformation Trophy requires that the winner must have accumulated at least 15 club points. The dog may be shown by a professional handler or by an amateur or by the combination. The award is presented annually at the banquet.

The WRGRC Overall Field Trophy requires that the winner accumulate a minimum of 5 club points including at least one JAM or higher placement, WCX, 2 JH legs, or a SH or MH leg. There is no minimum requirement for other field trophies. This award replaced the retired Fourwinds Annual Field Award, which was donated by White River Golden Retriever Club in 1974. The Fourwinds Annual Field award itself replaced the first retired Way-Rene's Golden Oak Field Award, which was donated by Buckskin Kennels Dick & Judy Collins, first presented in 1971, and subsequently retired in 1973.
Derby Dog of the Year Trophy is awarded annually to the dog who wins the highest number of Derby points according to WRGRC point system. A Derby Stake is offered to dogs aged 6 months to 2 years. It is generally the field stake where young dogs start.
